Choose the Pathway To Nourish Your Body

Every mountain view starts with a single step; together, we’ll explore the paths that restore flow and vitality.

Stress creates cycles of energetic blockages that dam up the passages and inhibits flow.

Summit Acupuncture provides a space to relieve physical and emotional pain, hormonal imbalances, digestive disorders & allergies,
exhaustion, stress, and mental health issues.

We need to hold ourselves and each other with care.

Your pain needs to be seen, felt, and released.
I create and hold the space for you to move through the murky layers and reconnect to balance and a well-rounded approach to healthcare.

Sarah's practice is dynamic, unique and is different every time, which I appreciate because Sarah acknowledges and upholds my body's wisdom as it appears in the present moment. Through an ancient Japanese-styled practice of acupuncture paired with her intuition and beautiful space, I leave each session feeling more alive and connected to my body and life force.

AN INTEGRATIVE APPROACH TO HEALTH

Here is the list of services for you to choose from at Summit Acupuncture

KMS Japanese Acupuncture

The KMS method was pioneered by Kiiko Matsumoto,
a Japanese Master Acupuncturist who studied under Master Nagano.

KMS Acupuncture is the study and application of how Qi (energy) moves through the body and where it needs to be moved to alleviate pain and disease.

What your session will feel like:

Specific points are chosen independently on the body to alleviate symptoms of stress and encourage flow. When choosing the points to work with, I match the individual’s constitution and underlying patterns I perceive.

Symptoms are the body’s way of letting you know a root imbalance needs to be addressed.

In KMS Acupuncture, the root refers to the constitution and includes patterns that may go back many years in the person’s life. The branches are the specific symptoms for which a person may be seeking treatment.

By treating both the root and branch, patients get short-term alleviation of symptoms and greater changes to their body’s tendencies that prevent the symptom from returning and improve overall health over time.

Support for Pregnancy & Childbirth

The acupuncture sessions help bring balance to the body as it is going through this major change. It helps a varriey of things such as morning sickness, fatigue, back pain, and aims to relax and soften uterine ligaments and bring blood flow to the pelvis. This encourages the baby to descend into the birth canal in the proper position, while preparing the cervix to soften and dilate and the uterine muscles to effectively contract when needed.

Japanese Needles

Japanese needles have a seamless presence; it is not intrusive to the body. I refer to the needles used in KMS Acupuncture as tiny Katanas (Japanese Samari)—they are precise, direct, flawless. Japanese needles differ from TCM needles in the size, width, and depth of the incision.

Japanese acupuncture through touch

In the clinic, we can do a full acupuncture treatment without the use of needles. We use the same diagnostic tools and treatment principles. However, we apply the treatment plan with other tools such as Shonishin, Japanese stainless steel tools used on the skin’s surface.

Pediatrics Acupuncture: Japanese Shonishin

Japanese Shonishin is a technique for treating illness and promoting health in infants and toddlers, and adults. It’s based on dispersing excess along the yang channels while supporting deficiency along the yin channels. The approach uses various metal tools for stimulation of the acupuncture channels. They are commonly used to treat fever, common cold, cough, constipation and diarrhea. This approach can also be used in needle-free treatments for those apprehensive about needles.

Moxa

Moxa is an effective and ancient tool for healing gold injury sites, preventing scar blockages from forming from acute injuries, and invigorating the whole blood system of the body. Moxa is the product of two ingredients time and 100% plant matter of mugwort. When aged and processed according to the current techniques, moxa produces infrared heat directly to the body’s surface in its combustion phase. The application of heat is not burning the skin but is intended for warming of the specific zones.

Glass Fire Cupping

Glass Fire Cupping is a way to detoxify and relieve the body by creating a reverse massage. The practice involves pulling the fascia and muscle tissues away from the bone via suction, restoring circulation, and releasing muscle tensions.

Infrared Heat Therapy

We harness UV to destroy what we don’t want germs and bacteria in drinking water.
Nature always provides a balance. Modern medicine has caught onto the created machines to produces infrared light treating therapies. Infrared rays rebuild and restore tissues such as muscles, bones, and nerves; Japanese and Chinese have been working with Moxa therapy for 2500 years. Looking at the light spectrum with UV on one end and infrared on the other, we can understand the power of both forces.

Bio-sensory Feed-Back Therapy Techniques

Touch is just one of the five incredibly powerful sense inputs we as humans have.

It is very productive to passively ingest your healing with other sensory input other than tactile (touch-based)therapies.

The use of both sound and scents can accompany treatments to optimize your healing time.  In clinical practice, during the response to COVID with demand in minimizing contact therapies for a time, I developed a sound and scent-based technique used to improve healing performance. The results were deeper levels of productive rest reached in the duration of one session.

Sound

Koshi chimes produce a circular sound and have spiritual healing and other beneficial abilities to the nervous system.

From 3,400M above sea level between Spain and France amidst the Pyrenees mountains, four Koshi chimes were crafted and now reside in Summit Acupuncture clinic rooms. These Koshi chimes were crafted by an inventor and musician known as Kabir. Kabir designed the chimes around the four elements: earth, water, air, and fire.
